ABOUT GLYE

After working throughout the city of Chicago in various capacities, we
noticed that our collective experiences had exposed each of us to
environments, both secular and non-secular, that included a community of
extremely gifted young people. Yet, the reality was the youth did not recognize their gifts nor see themselves as talented, therefore, those gifts lay dormant. It was up to us to reach as many as we could in order to nurture those gifts and have them manifest for the greater good. Thus our endeavor to help change our communities began one gifted child at a time.

Guy Sharp, Executive Director of Gifted Life Ministries, has over 25 years of experience as music director and fine arts youth coordinator throughout the state of Illinois. His love for children and creativity compels him to work tirelessly to provide positive experiences in the arts for young people. He believes children are precious gifts to society. He also believes that hope for a better tomorrow is an investment in our youth. His thoughts are that we should protect, teach, love, empower and inspire them.

Gifted Life Youth Empowerment (GLYE) is an innovative, fine arts youth empowerment group conceived by Guy Sharp in 2011. GLYE currently offers services in the Auburn-Gresham Community and commutes youth from several communities that include the suburbs along with the West and East sides of Chicago.
